MyDrive Connect

TomTom MyDrive Connect is a user interface that helps manage the content, maps, and services of a compatible PRO driver terminal. To ensure that a PRO driver terminal is always up-to date, it is advisable to frequently connect it to MyDrive Connect. Without MyDrive Connect, it is not possible to download or transfer content to and from a compatible PRO driver terminal.

Firewalls, antivirus scanners and pop-up blockers can also interfere with MyDrive Connect. It may be necessary to configure your firewall and router to allow MyDrive Connect full access to the internet.

If you are using MyDrive Connect on a business network, for example, in an office at your workplace, be aware that your company may have restrictions and access policies that may prevent you from connecting to our servers. Also, if you are using a public network, it could have an unstable internet connection that could cause a download or an installation failure.

Note: If MyDrive Connect was not installed properly on a computer, the below error message will be displayed when connecting a PRO driver terminal.

Microsoft Windows 8 & 10

The following steps apply when using Microsoft Internet Explorer. If another internet browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is used, the steps may vary.

  1. Connect your computer to the internet.

    Hint: We recommend using a broadband internet connection whenever you connect a driver terminal to MyDrive Connect.

  2. Click on 'Download for Windows' to download MyDrive Connect.

    We recommend downloading the file to your computer by clicking on 'Save'.

  3. Click on 'Run', once the download is complete.

    Note: If you accidentally closed the 'Download complete' window, locate the file InstallMyDriveConnect.exe on your computer and double-click it.

  4. Click on 'Yes', if a 'User Account Control' window appears.

  5. Click on the link Licence Agreement to read the end user licence agreement.

    Important: Disconnect your PRO driver terminal from your computer before you continue.

  6. Select 'I Agree' to accept the terms in the licence agreement.

  7. Click on 'Install' to install MyDrive Connect on your computer.

  8. Once the installation of MyDrive Connect has completed or when prompted, connect the PRO to your computer.

    For PRO 5150/71xx/91xx, use the supplied mount and USB cable. For PRO 5250/7250, connect to the computer using only the supplied micro USB cable.

  9. Switch on the driver terminal.

Important: The USB connector of the driver terminal should be plugged directly into a USB port on your computer and not into a USB hub or USB port on a keyboard or monitor, as otherwise, power supply might not be sufficient.

Microsoft Windows 7 & Vista

The following steps apply when using Microsoft Internet Explorer. If another internet browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is used, the steps may vary.
Connect

  1. Connect your computer to the internet.

  2. Click on 'Download for Mac' to download MyDrive Connect.

  3. Click on the 'Finder' icon in the 'Dock' to switch to 'Finder', once the download is complete.

  4. From the 'Finder' menu at the top of the screen, click on 'Go' and choose 'Downloads' to open 'Your Downloads' folder.

  5. Double-click on 'MyDriveConnect.dmg'.
